Life of continuous Learning

 The Poetic Heart is a platform where poets, musicians and school students unite together and share their expressions through poetry. The event aims to bring poets from global languages & musicians on a single platform and promote peace within the region.

 This was held within the school, but the test itself was created from another organization. It was an opportunity to showcase our mathematical capabilities. It was a very tough competition and very challenging as well, but overall it was a good experience and one should at least attempt such an exam once.

  14th September - Hindi divas and Hindi essay competition -  This event was held on 14th September. Students also celebrated with enthusiasm and showed love and regards for the Hindi language by their performances. Our classmates who learn Hindi choreographed a dance by themselves. They had lots of fun and this helped enhance their team work skills.

 March 21- Mothers day: We all made art projects dedicated to our mother and surprised them with our art work to show them our love for them. All our moms were very happy with our creativity and efforts for them.

 28th April - Hindi and French Poster Making Competition: The Hindi and French poster making competition was held on 28th April.

 11th November - History Comes Alive:   To take the students through the past and reinforce the importance of history among students, Grades 6 to 9 students participated in the event - ‘History Comes Alive’ on 11th November. Each participant either enacted a scene or spoke about the character he/she was dressed as. This event helped them boost their self confidence and inspire others to do their best.

 Holy Quran Recital Competition was organised by the Islamic Education department on 30th November. The students participated with great vigour and enthusiasm and recited with love and respect showing their appreciation towards Islam and the culture of UAE. Each grade had a different Surah to recite

 20th June - Fathers Day:  Surprise activities for fathers were planned and carried out by the students of secondary. Students had made creative surprises for their fathers.

 21st June - International Yoga Day; It was the 8th International Yoga Day and it was held on the 21st of June, 2022. This year's IDY had been celebrated in partnership with the ADSC, under the aegis of the UAE Government and with support of HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

 It was an event organized by the school where we celebrated the heritage and culture of UAE through various performances. There were dances, choirs, fashion shows, etc. There were stalls for henna, face paint and other things organized.

This competition was a very innovative and critical thinking challenge for students of each category. It helped all the participants to think and enhance their thinking capability. The challenges given to the students according to their grade level were a perfect amount of difficulty.

 29th October - GIIS Competitions Global Indian International School Abu Dhabi had held an inter-school competition called Al Tasamuh on 29th October. The competition had various events and categories. 11 schools had participated in the competition. The event was a great experience and we learnt a lot of things. Al Tasamuh is a great opportunity to learn things

 15 October - Inter School Chess Competition :  This competition was planned out by GUIS. It was a very fun and memorable experience. We got to meet other young children who were also passionate about the game of chess. We played many skilled competitors. The venue was very well thought out.  This competition was planned out by GUIS. It was a very fun and memorable experience. One aspect I really liked about this event was the fact that we got to meet other young girls who were also passionate about the game of chess. We played many skilled competitors and it set off our competitive spirit. The venue was very well thought out, and we got to hear some very enlightening speeches coming from chess professionals.  20th September - Inter House Ballad Competitions:   The Inter-house Ballad competition was organized on 21st September. It was a spectacular event where students showcase their talent for reciting ballads. The event was a great experience where we learnt a lot of things. This was a competition conducted by the school where we had to recite a ballad.This was a great way to portray my talents and to see other’s talents too.I (Adelyn) had won 3rd place in this competition.)

The Byju's quiz was conducted on 16th July. It was organised by the learning app, BYJU'S.

 Best teacher award: The class teacher of our class( ms greeshma) 8B1 was rewarded with the best teacher award. It was because of the efforts and dedication that she put into teaching us, etc. We had surprised her by calling her into the assembly and everyone cheered for her.

 18th January - Sports Day- It was held on 18th January. Everyone got a chance to audition in what they wanted to, but only the best of each house got selected for the finals. there were different events like 50m race, 100m race, shot-put, march past, etc And some experiences shared by students of 8B1 include: I had loads of fun on sports day and it was very enjoyable doing the march past and races that I got 2nd in. It was overall very enjoyable and an experience we hadn’t had in a long time due to covid so experiencing sports day again was overall very fun), (sanchita - I had so much fun in the sports day and i played in the shotput and relay race..i won in shot put 1st place and kinda lost in the relay race but so far from this 2 game i played was really fun and i was also in the march past which was really fun to do.)  14th November - Children’s Day. Children’s Day was celebrated on 14th November. A special assembly was held for the students. They were entertained by different music bands of the school. Teachers participated whole heartedly to entertain the students. All students had a fun-filled day at the school.

 30th September - Dandiya Night:  Dandiya Night was organised to celebrate the festival Navratri. It was held on 30th September. Many people attended the event. Some students even performed. It was fun time overall. It was a very fun experience especially as majority of the students of 8B1 danced and it was very warming seeing everyone cheer for us as we danced.  

 5th September - Teacher’s Day: Teacher's Day was celebrated on the 5th of September. To celebrate it many students performed for the teachers. The students organized dances, skits, bands, etc.

 15th November - French Elocution :  This competition was during the month of November. The French learning students had to speak about a topic that included French culture and civilization.  This competition was during the month of November. Overall, I secured 2nd place in this competition. This experience was shared by Malavika from class 8B1

  19th October - Field Trip:  The field trip for Class 8-B1 and 8-B2 happened on the 19th of October. For the field trip we went to Al Thuraya Astronomy Centre in Dubai. The field trip gave us new knowledge about space and the universe. We got hold small meteorites and got to look at the sun from a telescope.

  November - Spell bee: The spelling bee took place in 2022. It was set in different levels and you had to keep beating the competition to reach further levels. It was an in-school competition and it took me weeks and a lot of hard work to be on the same level as the other competitors. But ultimately it was worth it as even though I didn't win, I still made it in as one of the three finalists. I think those few weeks of preparation helped me for the months to come in English class so I am extremely grateful for such an opportunity. This experience is from Tyra from the class of 8B1

  4th November - Digital Citizenship Assembly:  On 4th November, our class 8-B1, along with 11-A1 and the digital leaders of our school, conducted a special assembly. The theme of our assembly was “Digital Citizenship”, as the whole school was celebrating Digital Citizenship week. The highlight of our assembly was the skit, which underlined the powerful impact that Social Media can have on an individual.  

 (April 22nd):  Earth Day was celebrated on 22nd April. Every year we celebrate earth day and perform some activities to create awareness about the planet we live in. This year we were divided into different groups and were assigned to make posters on saving the earth. On this day, we made cards, posters and badges to spread awareness on keeping the Earth clean and to help the world to be safe from pollution and global warming.
